With over 18 years of experience in the industry, Dr. Rachel Dodds is an established expert in the field of sustainable tourism. Rachel is the Director of Sustaining Tourism, a boutique consultancy as well as an Assistant Professor at Ryerson University in the Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. She is also a founding member of The Icarus Foundation, a national NGO helping Canada become a climate friendly destination.Rachel has provided business advice and research to government bodies, charities, NGOs and private sector organizations worldwide. Rachel’s research and consulting work has focused on assessing the sustainability of destinations, climate change mitigation, corporate social responsibility, certification and island studies. Past clients include, but are not limited to the: World Bank/IFC, European Union/Caribbean Tourism Organization, WWF, Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum’s International Tourism Partnership, Industry Canada, NGO’s, and tour operators and hotels globally. Rachel has travelled to over 70 countries and four continents and is passionate about seeing change.
